And the frightening thing is many would see £500 a month as being quite reasonable...
The cost of living goes up and the standard of living goes down... the old social see-saw.
I'm not sure what that kind of money would get you...rents here can be rather ridiculous but people have to have a roof over their heads so many people just have to shell out the dosh. Mortgage repayments are just as bad, depending on the bank you're with.
This made me smile, but also made me sad. A good response from such a short piece.
And £120 a month for Council Tax - £1.40 of which goes towards collecting rubbish.
Someone recently pointed out to me that I'll soon have to update this poem to £500 a WEEK to rent a room in Oxford.
